Reprogram your limiting beliefs with the Temporal Tap Technique

Hello beautiful soul!

Let's talk about a tapping technique that helps with reprogramming the mind, breaking old habits, attitudes or emotional responses, and establishing new ones.

It is the Temporal Tap Technique.

It is an age-old energy technique that calms the part of the nervous system that holds on to old habits.

Simply tapping on the head around the top of the ear calms the part of the nervous system that fights to maintain your current belief systems and patterns of behaviour.

The brain is then more receptive to learning new beliefs and instilling new affirmations, while temporarily suspending other sensory input.

Tapping impacts our thinking, our behaviour, our nervous systems, our energies, and even the activities going on in our cells.

The tapping stimulates acupuncture points, which release tension and help to balance the body's energetic system. Combining this tapping with a statement puts the intent in the energy field, which is aimed at the desired result.

When tapped, the triple warmer meridian relaxes, allowing new habits and new attitudes to be reactivated.

This works since you are tapping the other way of its normal flow, therefore it makes the mind more responsive to learning.

By calming down the part of the nervous system that struggles to maintain the habit, new habits can be introduced more easily.

Interesting, isn’t it?

How to perform the temporal tap technique

Begin by becoming aware of a bad habit, a negative attitude, or an automatic emotional response that you want to change. 

In a single sentence, describe the change you want to see and state it in the present tense as if the desired reality already exists. It doesn't have to be true right now, but it should be something you want will be true in the future. 

For instance, you might say 'I easily say no and it feels good'. 

Then restate it, keeping the same meaning, but with a negative wording, for instance 'I no longer feel uncomfortable when I say no'. Even though the wording is negative, the message remains positive.

Here are some examples.

I know my value and easily ask for what I want >I no longer feel insecure and I can ask for what I want.

Money comes to me easily and effortlessly > I no longer have issues with money.

I choose to speak my mind and to be calm and serene > I am no longer afraid to speak up.

I choose to believe that I am absolutely good enough > I no longer believe that I am not good enough.

It is easy for me to lose weight > I no longer struggle to lose weight.

1. Start tapping, with the three middle fingers of your left hand, on the left side of your head at the temple, around the ear and down to the base of your head, while saying out loud your 'negative' statement. Tap with firm but not hard pressure and do this 6-7 times.
2. Repeat the technique on the right side, tapping with your right hand, but this time using your 'positive' statement and do this 6-7 times.
3. The mind doesn't like change so to really change a habit or belief do this several times per day. The more you tap both statements, the faster you will see the benefits.
4. One very important point is to make sure the wording is right for you. Both statements have to 'feel' relevant, otherwise, it won't work. 

The temporal tap is a powerful technique that combines repetition, autosuggestion, and neuro-linguistic reprogramming.

It stimulates not only the brain but also each meridian, ensuring that your goal is communicated to all of your body's systems. It's a surprisingly basic method for changing numerous patterns that can't be changed alone via willpower.

Remember to keep it in the present tense as you are informing your subconscious mind that this is a fact now.

Use short, simple phrases that resonate with you. Be specific about what you want, and don’t use phrases that are too vague, for example, instead of “I am a very confident person”, you can say “I do feel confident when I am surrounded by people”.

If you sense you are resistant to a specific statement, try to analyse what is going through your mind while you are saying your affirmations. 

If you feel like you are not having a shift you may need to reevaluate your wording.
